Genesis Block: Welcome to Infraread
The foundation of something monumental, from the team at Republic Crypto.
A mainnet launch is a monumental undertaking. After half a decade of blockchain advisory, Republic Crypto knows intimately, and appreciates deeply, how much work it takes to launch a production network. But when you’ve been operating, analyzing, and optimizing a network’s infrastructure since testnet, it means a little bit more.
That’s why we’re extra excited about the Aptos mainnet launch—because our nodes were there from the genesis block.
We know what you’re probably thinking. Wait, Republic Crypto runs blockchain infrastructure?
Yup, we’ve been at it since 2021. But, as of today, it’s called Runtime.
Republic Crypto Runtime is becoming the backbone of the blockchain economy—a platform for staking tokens, white-labeling infrastructure, and integrating those capabilities into any product. Republic Crypto has been using Runtime for months to earn staking yield, run branded infrastructure, and incubate new-to-world products. It’s powerful stuff, and it’s about time we shared the goods.
Runtime was built by an elite team of networking, platform, security, site reliability, and devops veterans. They’ve helped evolve some of the most ambitious, widely adopted protocols in crypto. That’s why the same group of world-class infrastructure engineers will be contributing to our newest Substack, Infraread.
They design, they build, they test, they launch, they blog. They insist that they sleep. We’re skeptical.
We chose to start Infraread alongside the launch of Runtime because, ultimately, we believe that decentralized infrastructure should promote transparency. And although permissionless networks are inherently open, their operators often communicate in siloed Discord servers and Telegram channels. We see patterns across these silos that help us understand where the industry is going, and we think the rest of the world should see them too.
With Infraread, the Runtime team relays anecdotes, synthesizes learnings, and shares insights from every corner of the industry. Consider it the nerdiest diary you’ve ever read.
We’ll be sharing more about Republic Crypto Runtime with you soon. For now, we hope you subscribe to Infraread to follow our journey as we wade through the wild world of infrastructure operation.
To the moon!
